I am a qualified psychosexual therapist, individual and couple psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist. I trained and qualified at Tavistock Relationships, the most recognised international institute for training, research, and couple relationships.
I am also currently undergoing advanced couple psychoanalytic psychotherapy training at Tavistock Relationships. Advanced psychoanalytic psychotherapy dives into the shared internal world of a couple's relationship and explores the current dynamics between the partners. It also discovers and reflects on how to repair the relationship and move on.
My commitment to upholding the highest standards in my practice is reflected in my memberships with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapy (COSRT), and the European Society of Sexual Medicine (ESSM). These affiliations ensure that I adhere to the field's best practices and ethical standards.
We all hope to find a partner who brings us more joy and happiness. However, it is not easy sometimes. Being in a couple relationship means having a little organisation to manage and look after. The good news is that I can help with all the challenges that you face, and you are not alone.
Regarding relationship counselling and psychotherapy, the therapy is based on relational psychoanalysis, which emphasises the impact of our early experiences on our capacity to bond and maintain relationships. I would like to emphasise that a couple's relationship is the core of a happy family life. Children learn from experience, and they see the parental couple as a model for their future interaction & finding their place in life. They need a safe and emotionally stable home to develop.
Common issues couples may face include:
For individuals, it may be:
Psychosexual therapy is a cognitive behavioural program which includes exercises and homework. This may sound scary, but you will start with gentle and fun exercises. Also, you cannot fail an exercise. This will be a fascinating journey to understanding yourself, what has caused you the problem and how to handle it.
It is essential to mention that sexual dysfunction can affect one's mental health and personal and social life. So do not shy away, and look after yourself by seeking help.
Nevertheless, every person is unique and may face different challenges. I have made a list of more common sexual dysfunctions.
These include:
I understand that problems related to intimacy are sensitive and personal. Sometimes, it takes years before we find the courage and hope to seek help. Therefore, I offer my sessions in a confidential, contained, and engaging setting. You will feel understood and supported throughout the process.
Furthermore, my online counselling service is confidential, secure and available for individuals and couples. It can also be used for couples residing separately, even abroad. I also offer therapy in Farsi.
